The Multicolumn Text Field component enables users of Flash MX and Flash MX 2004 to create multi-column text layouts. The component has been created to aid users in designing for the landscape proportions of a screen medium whilst retaining typographic conventions.
Two methods for creating and styling columns of type are provided. The custom user interface is provided for less experienced users and advanced users have the opportunity to dynamically create their columns using properties and methods comparable to the properties and methods built into ActionScript for the manipulation of dynamic text fields.
